For years, IDEAL has been sampling drinking water for lead. Our staff is knowledgeable of current requirements for schools. We talk with our clients to develop a logical sampling scheme appropriate for their buildings. Call or email us today!
Current Illinois regulations require all pre-K - 5th grade buildings constructed prior to January 1, 1987 to be tested by December 31, 2017 and those constructed between January 1, 1987 and January 1, 2000 to be tested by December 31, 2018.
Illinois-licensed day care homes and group day care homes/centers constructed prior to January 2000 are required to test their water for lead. Testing must be performed by a lab currently certified in Illinois to test lead in drinking water. Any potable drinking water source must be tested, which includes but may not be limited to kitchen faucets, refrigerator water dispenser and icemaker, and bathroom sinks (shower/tub not required).
If you are ready to test, IDEAL will provide you with bottles, analysis at an IEPA-accredited lab and a report. And we will be here for you after you get your results.
Don't hesitate to contact us for your lead testing needs, as we have helped hundreds of schools get their water testing done, and we are ready to assist you.
